All board members except the Police Liaison are elected and hold office for two years. The Police Liaison is appointed by the Austin Police Department.

Board members are company owners, managers or executives of Private Security Companies with Offices in the Central Texas region.

All training and education programs are approved by the LEAPS board and law enforcement liaisons.

LEAPS Central Texas is supported by donations and membership fees which are collected annually.
